Built by Mısırlı Yusuf Ziya Pasha, one of the important merchants of the Ottoman Empire, this waterfront residence was called as Haunted Mansion.

All the names have a historic story in Bosphorus. Why this mansion was called as Haunted Mansion?

This story is a First World War Story.

The mansion was began to build in 1910. When began the First World War, workers who worked on the construction of the mansion, joined the army.

In the meantime, Pasha’s commerce ships were sunk by British and Pasha began to live financial trouble so construction of the mansion waited for years.

People called this building the Haunted Mansion because of  endless construction.

Yusuf Ziya Pasha lived in this waterfront residence until died in 1936.

This mansion located in Sarıyer was rebuilt in 1990s. The restoration is not only unsuccessful but it’s also bad too.

I think, it must demolish and rebuilt again.
